YA!! New Season 2008-2009!!

Here are some upcoming events that you should attend if you are interested in playing for us this year!!

Septemeber 2nd - 7-8pm in the SLC (2 Courts this time!)
-Open gym! Haven't been able to play all summer? Come play some volleyball and meet some of the girls from last year!

September 4th - 7-8pm in the SLC (2 Courts this time!)
-Open gym!

September 11th - 8-9pm in the SLC room #308 Interest Meeting
- Come and get an introduction to the club and sign up for tryouts!

September 15th-17th 8-10pm in the SLC Gyms
- Tryouts! Get excited! There will be a $5 tryout fee. You don't need to come with anything special (we will provide numbers, etc) but if you haven't filled out a Tryout Sign up Sheet you might want to come a little early so we dont waste any time!

We are definatly excited for this year and expect a lot from it! Good luck at tryouts ladies and let me know if you have any questions at all :)

Summer... Finally!

Hey girls, summer is finally here, but you know it will go by fast and tryouts for our new seasons will be right around the corner. I am in the process of getting the event approved but as of right now it looks like Tryouts are going to be September 15-17th. Also an interest meeting will be held before tryouts on September 11th. You can come to this to find out more about the club, our schedule, price to participate and whatever else you have questions about.

I will post more official times and dates when I know so hold tight.

Tryouts for the 2007-2008 season are THIS week! September 10-12th from 8-10pm at the SLC.

CONGRATULATIONS on NATIONALS!!

CONGRATULATIONS for a great finish at Nationals!
Baylor Club Volleyball placed 2nd in the Nation in Division II (gold team) and 5th in the Nation in Division I (green team).

The Gold team made history by going to our first Championship game ever!

The green team placed 2nd in their pool defeating U. of Pittsburgh and Northeastern and falling to U. of Michigan.
The gold team swept their pool with a 6-0 record defeating UC Santa Barbara, Ohio, and Iowa St.

Friday, April 13, 2007

The green team won their morning challenger game against Appalachain St. The evening pool went into a three way tie which led to a playoff. Baylor dominated the playoff defeating both Bowling Green St. and Texas State U.
The gold team placed 2nd in their pool. They defeated Purdue, Western Illinois, and fell to Texas in 3 games.

Bracket play begins for DI. The green team defeated Texas A&M in 2 games. They than met the U. of Michigan in quarterfinals and lost in 2 games. The Green team finished 5th in the Nation!
Bracket play begins for DII. The gold team met UC Davis in the quarterfinals and defeated them in 3 games. They than beat Michigan St. in the semi-finals and beat them in 2 games. The gold team than made history by being the first Baylor team to appear in a National Championship game. The girls fought hard but lost to Texas in 2 games. The gold team placed 2nd in the Nation!

Spring 2007

Welcome to the Baylor Women's Club Volleyball website!! We are happy that you are interested in learning about our club!

History: Our club was founded in 2002, with 12 members. Since than we have doubled in size and have created two teams within the club: the Green team and the Gold team.

Schedule: Our teams practice on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from 8-10pm at the Student Life Center or Marrs McLane Gym. Our season begins in September and ends in mid-April with the National Tournament. Our conference tournaments are heard in various locations (Baylor, UT, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, etc.) and take place on Saturdays, once a month.

Nationals: This year will be our 6th appearance at the NIRSA National competition. It takes place on April 12-14, 2007, in Louisville, KY.

Awards: In the past 5 seasons, our teams have ranked consistantly in the top two in the state and has finished in the top ten teams at Nationals each year. In 2006, the Green team (DI) placed 3rd in the Nation. In 2005, the Green team placed 5th in the Nation. 2007 is looking for that 1st place finish! Our Gold team (DII) has also placed well over the years with (2) 5th place finishes and (1) 3rd place finish.

TRYOUTS: Tryouts for the 2007-2008 season will take place in early September. More info to come in the Fall!
